Safety Lock IV Catheter or Cannula

Safety IV cannula is designed to protect nurses who operate IV catheters. When the outer tube of a pc of safety lock IV catheter is delivered into blood vessel of a patient, an elastic metal clip at the needle of safety cannula will slide to the tip of the needle and form a protective cover. IV safety catheters effectively reduce the injury of IV catheter needles to the nurses.

IV catheter is also called the venous cannula. The core components include the soft catheter / sleeve that can be retained in the blood vessel, and stainless steel puncture needle. When it is used, the catheter and needle are punctured into the blood vessel. When the catheter is totally delivered into the blood vessel, the needle core will be withdrawn, leaving only the flexible catheter in the blood vessel,and so infusion treatment can begin.

When nurses are puncturing skin of patients, the sharp needles of IV catheters might hurt the nurses fingers when the needles are pulled out of patient skin. So, safety lock IV catheters are designed in response to the needs.

Simply speaking,safety IV cannula is an improved version of current types of IV catheter. An elastic metal clip is added on pen type IV catheter , butterfly type IV catheter etc. All of our IV safety catheters are disposable and CE certified.
